Alex Quintana, also known as Agruv, is an independent composer and audio engineer out of Los Angeles, CA.
He has been writing and playing music since 2001 and also plays multiple instruments, which include piano, bass, and guitar. Agruv has played with a several local bands out of Orange County, where he has learned to hone his skills as a musician. Since 2006, Agruv’s compositions have changed directions and reached new heights in hip-hop production and subsequently led to the creation of AgruvStudios in early 2009.
After releasing his first album in mid 2009, several aspiring hip-hop artists out of Orange County have asked to collaborate with Agruv on their upcoming albums. As other artists begin to see the value that Agruv brings to the studio, they have begun to enlist him on their own projects. Agruv is currently working on two forthcoming albums with these artists, which are due to be released in early 2010. Although much of Agruv’s time is devoted to the recording and mixing of these albums, he still finds time to: compose new music to be sold through online sites; score music for film; compose corporate projects; and network with other movers and shakers in the industry. Currently, AgruvStudios has collaborated with a marketing company out of Orange County to create a number of business-to-business infomercials. From film editing to the composition of original music, Agruv continues to satisfy his clients through his unique artistic talent and personable approach to all projects.
Always thinking long-term, Agruv’s business savvy has begun to garner him the recognition that he deserves. As he remains busy in the studio working on several projects, we can see the development of his efforts in many avenues. Agruv has teamed up with long time friend, and founder of “Dovetail Aesthetics”, Nolan Cabeje, to create an online web presence and begin the expansion of AgruvStudios. Even though agruv.com is in the beginning stages, the plans to make AgruvStudios stand out in the business are currently under way. The hard work and professionalism that Agruv invests in himself, are key elements that play an important role for his success in the music industry.
